For my Journalism + Design capstone project, I chose to design a magazine that speaks on the importance of green space in New York City. When entering my capstone class, I knew that I wanted to create a project that holds an intersection between my writing and photography, displaying what I have been most heavily working on throughout my four years of college. This magazine was the perfect solution. Over the course of my final semester, I was led to meet a variety of experts and locals who were kind enough to share personal experiences and educate me on the environment of the city.

The magazine opens with an educational article about the benefits of being immersed in nature, as well as some initiatives and changes that are happening in NYC right now to expand green space. Throughout the rest of the magazine are photos of people across different parks in the city and personal quotes from community members.
